In a context of increasingly competitive and globalized markets, a large scale group like Dexia must be able to anticipate tomorrow’s needs, particularly in terms of organization.
Developing the Group’s future demands a clear vision of the overall strategy but also identification of the men and women who will lead it most effectively.
Moreover, the career development of staff towards senior executive positions must follow clear and consistent criteria throughout the Group.
To meet these needs and to identify in advance the employees most competent to take on these responsibilities, Dexia has established the DEAL (Developing Executives As future Leaders) program. Based on the 18 areas of competence in Dexia’s leadership model, the DEAL program highlights the strong points of the managers of tomorrow, but also the competences that must be developed to be able to take a senior executive position.
Commitment, personal investment and the will to develop one’s career are the main ingredients which lead to the success of the DEAL program. At the end of the development path following the DEAL program, which extends over several years, the participants will have a thorough, across the board knowledge of the Dexia Group, of a culture, a vision and of common reference points which will help them in the development of their career.
Target group
The DEAL program is intended for executives who have been identified by their line manager as showing the potential for taking on a senior executive position on midterm.
On this basis, the DEAL participants are designated in consultation with human resources.
Moreover, it is expected that participants in DEAL will demonstrate a clearly asserted will to develop their career within Dexia.
Program stages
The program is divided into three stages: a preparatory phase, a development center and a feedback followed by an individual development plan.
What next?
After having followed the DEAL program the participants continue to benefit from many networking opportunities within the Group and the continuous offer of the Dexia Corporate University.
